In the event that your child is unable to attend school, please contact the administration team by one of the ways listed below to advise of the reason for the absence.
- SMS the school absence line on 0427 016 460;
- Phone the school on 07 3489 5444 (school hours);
- Email Admin at any time (24hrs) with the reason for their absence;
- QParents app.
If we are not informed of a student absence an SMS will be sent to the parent/carer once the rolls are marked. If there is no response to the SMS, then parents/carers will be phoned and if contact cannot be made the absence is recorded as unexplained. Letters for unexplained absences are sent home on a regular basis.
The Education Act requires schools to record explanations for non-attendance and therefore our school monitors student attendance and reasons for absences on a daily basis.
